Overview

Pisang peak climbing is an adventurous journey to the Annapurna region of Nepal. It takes you deep in to the Pisang valley where you can climb up to the Pisang peak that rises tall at an elevation of 6091 meters just above the Pisang village. From the summit, one can witness some superb views of mountains in the Annapurna region that includes Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Kangla Himal, etc. Apart from the mountains, a delightful walk along with the tranquil landscapes and pristine environment in the backdrop of majestic Himalayas makes the climb up the Pisang peak a revitalizing experience. 

This peak climbing mainly focusses on the climbing challenges that any climber or mountaineer would love to opt for. It offers an opportunity to climb up one of the climbable peaks in the Annapurna region of Nepal. This climbing is not just popular for the appreciable views of mountains but for the rich culture that one immerses while on a journey to the peak. The ethnic villages that we pass by enabling us to get some meaningful insights on people, their culture and lifestyle. The journey of Pisang peak climbing
Pisang peak climbing follows the Annapurna Circuit Trek. It starts with a scenic drive from Kathmandu city along the highway to Jagat via Besisahar. From Jagat, we walk pass a beautiful terrain full of lush hills, ethnic villages and farmlands. We traverse through villages like Dharapani and Chame to Pisang valley. In Pisang valley, we acclimatize ourselves and prepare for the climb up the journey. We walk up to high camp and then to the peak of Pisang. After conquering the summit of Pisang, we descend down to Pisang village and march forward towards Manang valley. Further, we follow the trail of Annapurna Circuit and pass Yak Kharka to Throrong La pass, the highest pass of the world. We cross the pass and head towards a popular pilgrimage site in the Annapurna region i.e. Muktinath. From Muktinath, we descend down to Jomsom and take a flight to Pokhara. From Pokhara, we take a scenic drive along the countryside landscape back to Kathmandu.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive in Tribhuwan International airport

Welcome to Nepal. A representative from Eye on Himalaya Treks and Expedition P. Ltd will welcome you at the airport and transfer to a hotel in Kathmandu. For the remaining time, you can rest at your hotel and make yourself with the new environment. Tonight at Kathmandu

Day 2 : Kathmandu sightseeing and trek preparation

Today, as a part of your sightseeing day tour, you will be driven to different UNESCO listed heritage sites around Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath stupa, Pashupatinath temple and Boudhanath stupa are included in today’s day tour. If you need anything for your climbing journey ahead, you can buy some last minute items today. You can also utilize this day for trek preparation purpose. Tonight at Kathmandu

Day 3 : Drive to Syange/ Jagat

Early in the morning, we pick you up for a scenic drive along the highway route to Jagat via Besisahar. It takes around eight hours for us to reach Jagat. The drive goes along countryside Nepal where we can get some enchanting views of hills, rivers, valleys and villages. Tonight at Jagat

Day 4 : Trek to Dharapani

After breakfast, we start our trekking journey with a gradual walk along an easy trail that follows a dusty road towards north of the valley. We a cross suspension bridge over Marsyangdi river and walk uphill towards Tal. Further, we pass the farmlands, crop fields and sub-tropical forests to make our way up to Dharapani. Day 5 : Trek to Chame

We enjoy our breakfast in the guesthouse and follow a trail that climbs up to Danaque. From here, one can enjoy some majestic views of Mt. Manaslu. There are two routes to get to the next village amongst which we take the higher route that offers some magnificent views of mountains. We pass an old village of Tyanja and follow a path through the forests of pine to Chame. Chame is a district headquarter of Manang district. Tonight at Chame

Day 6 : Trek to Pisang

Leaving Chame, we follow a trail uphill towards the narrow valley. We cross a metal bridge over a river in the valley and climb up steep through the forests of pine and rhododendron to Dhukure pokhari. As we walk above the forested area, we open up to Pisang valley with some great views of Pisang Peak and Chulu peak on sight. from the top, we descend down to the interesting village of Pisang. Day 7 : Acclimatization in Pisang

Today, we stay at Pisang for acclimatization. In the afternoon, we hike up to Upper Pisang and visit some interesting villages and monasteries in the area. We can enjoy some magnificent views of Annapurna, Gangapurna and other peaks as we walk across the village of Pisang. Tonight at Pisang

Day 8 : Trek to Pisang Base Camp

After a wonderful day of acclimatization in Pisang, we climb up to reach the Pisang Base Camp. The trail climbs up through the sparse wood and vast meadows with spectacular views of mountains and wild terrain on sight. the flat alpine meadows on the trail to base camp is considered as the best place to set up our tenting camps. Day 9 : Trek to Pisang High Camp

Leaving the Pisang Base Camp, we climb up higher towards the south west ridge of the Pisang peak. It takes us around four to five hours to reach Pisang High Camp at an elevation of 5400 meters. In the winter, the high camp will be covered with snow. Generally, the place is covered with snow from November to March. As we reach the high camp, we prepare our climbing gears for our climbing journey tomorrow. Tonight at Pisang High Camp

Day 10 : Climb up the summit and return back to base camp

Finally, it’s our day to climb up the Pisang peak. We start our climb early in the morning so as to conquer the summit by noon. Afternoon, the weather gets windy and unfavorable up in the summit. Hence, we wake up sharp at around 1 a.m. and after breakfast, we start our climb up. Our climbing leader will set up the ropes and we follow his/her footsteps to get up to the top of the Pisang peak. From the top of the peak, we can enjoy some astonishing views of mountains in the region. After conquering the top, we get down to the base camp for overnight stay. Tonight at Pisang Base Camp.

Day 11 : Trek to Manang valley

Leaving the base camp, we get down to the Pisang village and follow a trail that will lead us to the Manang valley. We climb up gradually for around half an hour until we reach the top of a ridge. From the top, we can enjoy some mesmerizing views of the entire Manang valley in the backdrop of the beautiful Himalayas like Gnagapurna, Annapurna, Tilicho, Chulu east, Pisang peak and many more. We descend down from the ridge and walk toward Humde. It’s an easy way to walk uphill to Braga village. Here we can observe some traditional Tibetan style houses. We walk past the villages, monasteries and outstanding landscapes on the way to Manang valley. Tonight at Manang.

Day 12 : Rest day in Manang

Another day for acclimatization in Manang. Today, we explore the village with around 500 roofed houses set up in a picturesque manner. We enjoy an easy day walk around the village with magnificent views of Annapurna II, III, Gangapurna, Tilicho, Chulu West and Chulu east. After a wonderful day of exploration in Manang, we spend our hotel enjoy the amazing hospitality of people in Manang. Tonight at Manang.

Day 13 : Trek to Yak Kharka

From Manang, we follow a trail of Annapurna Circuit and climb up for an hour to Tenki Mnanag. From here, one can enjoy some captivating closeup views of Annapurna, Gangapurna and Tilicho peak. Slowly the trail winds up with some breathtaking views of juniper bushes and wild terrain. We come above the tree line area and open up to the vast pastures of Yak Kharka. Tonight at Yak Kharka

Day 14 : Trek to Thorong La Phedi

We slowly climb up from the Yak Kharka to Thorong La Phedi enjoying some engrossing views of mountains and mountainous landscape. From Yak Kharka, we climb up to Ledar and then to the east bank of Jorsang river. Then the trail descends down to cross a wooden bridge over a small stream. Then we cross a narrow path and climb up a steep slope to reach Thorong Phedi, the foot of Thorong La pass. Tonight at Thorong La Phedi

Day 15 : Cross Thorong La pass and trek to Muktinath

Today, we climb up to the Thorong La pass at an elevation of 5416 meters. We cross the pass enjoying some breathtaking views of mountains in Annapurna panorama along with other mountain views and outstanding landscapes. After crossing the pass, we descend down to Muktinath, a popular spiritual hub for Hindus and Buddhist pilgrims in Annapurna region. Tonight at Muktinath

Day 16 : Trek to Jomsom

We wake up amidst the wonderful views of mountains in Muktinath. From Muktinath, we descend down a scenic route and pass some interesting villages on the way to Jomsom. We pass various villages like Kagbeni and Marpha to get to Jomsom. At Jomsom, one can enjoy some warm hospitality of local Gurung people. Tonight at Jomsom

Day 17 : Fly to Pokhara

We take an early flight to Pokhara today. If you have enough energy left for exploration, you can set out for a sightseeing tour around Pokhara valley. Or else, you can relax at your hotel room. In the evening, you can walk along the lakeside Pokhara applauding the gorgeous views of mountains, colorful boats and serene environment. Tonight at Pokhara

Day 18 : Drive back to Kathmandu

Today, we take a scenic drive along the highway and return back to the capital city of Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be dropped at your hotel room in Kathmandu. You can relax at the hotel for rest of the time. Tonight at Kathmandu

Day 19 : Departure
