Journey to Langtang Valley starts with a short drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi which is the commencement point of the trek. From here, the trail traverses through some settlement areas and dense forests of Langtang National Park to the Langtang valley. As soon as you enter into the valley, you will be poised with the wilderness of tranquil and rural landscapes that resembles that of the Tibetan highlands. In the valley, you can observe the strong dominance of the Buddhism religion. Kynajin gompa is a popular spiritual center of the region. And, Kyanjin Ri is one of the best viewpoints of admiring the majestic views of mountains in the Langtang region. Langtang valley was severely destroyed by the devastating earthquake in April 2015. The villages, trails and the entire infrastructure of the valley were destroyed. The region sustained a loss of lives! People turned homeless and hopeless. Many of them lost their lives and the living ones were left lonely with no family members, no roof over them, no food and no rays of hope. However, from 2015 to date, the region has come back to its track. The valley is totally renovated with new houses, new infrastructure and the willingness of people. Despite its renovation, the region has been able to maintain its natural lushness, biodiversity, and allure of mountain peaks.

Trip Itinerary

You will be welcomed to the wonderful city of Kathmandu at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Then after, you’ll be transferred to your respective hotels in the heart of Kathmandu-Thamel. You will be offered warm Nepali delicacies and drinks. 

On this day, you will make preparations for the Langtang Valley Trek. After being briefed about the Langtang Valley trek by the guide, you will pack your bags with all the important stuff. On this day you will go sightseeing around the Kathmandu valley. You can head towards Swayambhunath or Boudhnath if you are eager to learn about the Buddhist religion and culture. Or, you might opt to visit the outskirts of the holy Pashupatinath temple. Also, if you are a lover of arts and history then feel free to visit the NarayanHiti Museum which was once the palace of the ruling kings of Nepal. Then, you can visit the courtyards of Bhaktapur, , and Patan. 

On this day, you will drive to Syabrubesi. It is the gateway to many treks around the Langtang region. After the wonderful drive to Syabru, you will get the very first hint of the beautiful mountains, crop fields, rivers in the Langtang region far ahead. You can opt to stay in any of the many lodges and tea houses scattered in the area. 

This is the first trekking day in the Langtang Valley tour. The hike towards the Lama Hotel is not so challenging. The pleasant walk takes you to through lovely villages and mesmerizing terraced farms. Also, you can catch a glimpse of the wonderful Langtang Lirung. 

On this day after breakfast, you will enter the Langtang village inside the Langtang National Park. From a far distance, you can see the blue aluminum sheets on the roofs of the houses. The path that leads to Langtang village is filled with raw and wild flora and fauna. After you reach the mid of the valley, you will enter into Ghoretabla. The lifestyle of the Tamang and Bhotia community living in the area will bring you closer to the actual culture, traditions in Nepal. 

This is a challenging, adventurous and the most satisfying treks of the day since you will pass the Kyangjin Ri at 4000m or the Tserko Ri at 5033 m further up. The path takes you through rollings hills and offers mesmerizing views of the majestic mountains like Langtang Lirung, Dorji Lakpa, Naya Kanga, and Langshisha. You can either settle at Kyangjin Ri or can further head up to Tserko Ri at the altitude of 5033 m. 

If you plan to stay at Kyangjin, then you will be taking days to rest here. Since this day has been set aside for acclimatization and to go on excursions, you can hike up to the nearby areas. Grab in the beauty of the Langtang Valley as you get up close to the Langtang range. 

After having a lovely time at Kyangjin, you will be heading back to the same trail that you followed towards Lama Hotel. You can enjoy at the Lama Hotel with local drinks and a meal. Also, you can enjoy some folk music and dance with your guide and your Nepali friends. 

Walk past oak and pine trees heading towards Syabrubesi. This day is the end of your trekking days on the Langtang Valley Trek. Enjoy the wonderful views of the green hills and the views of Langtang Lirung in the backdrop. 

On this day you will be returning to Kathmandu through a scenic drive from Syabrubesi. It is advised to book the tickets beforehand to avoid any issue in the end. After reaching Kathmandu, take some rest at your hotel. You can then head out to buy souvenirs to take back home from the night market in Thamel. Also, enjoy some authentic Nepali cuisine. 

This marks the last day of your stay here in Nepal after the wonderful Langtang Valley Trek. You will be dropped off to the Tribhuvan International Airport by our coordinates.
