On this day, you will be heading on from Kathmandu to Sotikhola through a bus ride which takes about 10 hours or through private jeep which takes around 7 hours. The road is very bumpy from Dhading Besi to Sotikhola. Along the way, you will spot the views of the Langtang range in the backdrop. You will have lunch as you stop in a restaurant near the highway. Sotikhola had around 5 teahouses with all the necessary facilities.
On the second day, your trek will begin for the Manaslu and Tsum valley trek. You will be taking the roadway and trekking for 4 to 5 hours. Along the way, you will be following the Budigandaki river and crossing three suspension bridges. If you feel tired, then you can even cool off at the natural river there. Machha Khola has a few tea houses and has all the necessities. You will be offered with the panoramic views of Ganesh Himal in the north and the east.
On this day, you will be heading towards Jagat, which will take around 6 to 7 hours. The trek will take you uphill and downhill. You will reach, which is a natural hot spring. You will be having lunch in Dovan or Syali Bhatti. Also, on the way you will cross around six suspension bridges and a cantilever bridge to enter the Manaslu conservation area entry gate which is at Lower Jagat. You will get the permit checked since Manaslu is a conservation area. You can rest in any of the five tea houses in the area and also enjoy the views of Ganesh Himal and Sringi Himal.
On this day, you will be trekking from Lokpa, which takes about 5 to 6 hours. The restricted area will start from Jagat entry gate, and then gradually head uphill. On the way, you will have lunch in Chisapani. After, you will reach a Gurung village at Philim where you can observe the lifestyle of the Gurung community. Also, you will have to show your restricted permit in the checkpost nearby. You will be walking through lush rhododendron and bamboo forest with views of Ganesh Himal in the backdrop. Lokpa has only two tea houses, and the facilities get lower.
On this day you will take a 5-hour walk to Chumling. On the way, you will cross three suspension bridges and a Cantilever bridge. The rhododendron and pine forest will undoubtedly mesmerize you while Ganesh and Sringi Himal will follow you all through. There are three tea houses in Chumling where you can have lunch there.
On the sixth day of the Manaslu and Tsum Valley Trek, you will be heading to Chhokang Paro which take around 4 to 5 hours. You will be crossing a landslide area where you have to take utmost care about the rock falls. You will see small chortans and mani walls in Chhokang and stay in any of the five tea houses.
On this day you will be trekking to Mu Gompa from Chhokang which is a detour that takes around 5 to 6 hours. On the way, you can also head towards Rachen Gompa where you will find only female monks. The walk is relatively easy due to the flat topography. You will have lunch in Nile. The Mu Gompa has basic accommodation and food facilities. You can also take part in the morning and evening puja held at the monastery.
You will have lunch in Lar village as you head back to Chhokang Paro. You can also visit Milarepa cave on the way back where you have to additionally pay an entrance fee of about $4 per person. You will stay overnight at Chookang Paro and prepare for the next day.
This is a long days trek since you will have to walk 8 hours. You will take the same way that you took before and head back to Lokpa.
On this day after breakfast, you will begin your 6-hour trek towards Deng. On the way, you will cross 6 suspension bridges and have lunch at Nyak Phedi or Pewa while walking across the rhododendron and bamboo forest. You can stay in any of the three tea hoses in Deng.
On this day, you will be walking 6 to 7 hours to Namrung, which is again an uphill hike. At Ghap you will have lunch and then walk through pine forest with the views of Sringi, Lopchan himal, rani peak, and Syaula himal peeking from the treeline. You will cross 7 suspension bridges on the way. Upon reaching Namrung, you can head to the Namla gompa and stay in the tea houses. There is a four seasons resort in Namrung where you will be facilitated with Sauna.
The 6 hours walk towards Sama Gaon through Lho village is all worth it since you will have the exceptional vies of Manaslu, North Manaslu, Himchuli, and Nike peak on the way. You can have lunch at Lho village at an elevation of 3100m. You have to cross6 suspension bridges on the way to Lho. From Lho you can visit the Ribung Gompa. Also, you can head to Syala which is an amazing viewpoint at an elevation of 3520m. Sama Gaon has around nine tea houses. You will get excellent views of the highest mountain ranges.
After the long day's trek, this day has been secured as a rest day and side trip at Samagaon. You can go for three side trips from here. The first side trip is to Manaslu Base Camp, which takes about 8 hours. Manaslu base camp is at an elevation of 4800m and needless to say offers exquisite views of Manaslu. You can alternatively head to Pung Gyen gompa taking about 5 hours to go and head back. The gompa sits at an elevation of 4200m. In both of the side tours, you can add the additional side tour of visiting the Birendra Lake which takes about an hour to visit an head back to Sama.
This day’s trek is a short one since it will take about 3 hours to reach Samdo village, which is a flat and easy trail to follow. On the way, you will be crossing two wooden bridges with Manaslu North, Nike peak, and Samdo peak popping from all sides. You might also have a chance to see the mountain goats and yaks grazing in the fields. You can head inside any of the four tea houses in Samdo. In the day that is left, you will be exploring the Samdo village, which has only limited facilities.
This is a 5-hour trek towards Dharmashala. You will take an uphill walk and cross a suspension bridge on the way. There are two ways to reach Dharmashala, one mentioned here and the other from Larkey bazar at the Tibetian border. Mountain goats and yaks might be grazing on the vast fields. This is the starting point of the Budigandaki river. This is the highest place where you will sleep throughout the trek at an elevation of 4460m. Since there are only 3tea houses, you will have to share a room with other trekkers.
This day is one of the most challenging days of the entire Manaslu and Tsum valley trek since you will be crossing the strenuous Larke La Pass at an elevation of 5106m. The trek takes nearly 10 hours and heads uphill to Larkey La. Since you will have nothing to eat or drink on the way due to no tea houses, you will be taking some dry food. Trekking from Dharmashala to Larke LA takes about 4 to 5 hours. However, on the way, you will get to experience the panoramic views of Peri Himal, Larkey peak, Himung peak, Ratnachuli, Choyo Peak, and others. You will be fascinated by the view of the Ponkar Tal, which is a glacier Lake on the way from Larkey to Bhimtang. Bhimtang is a lovely village with seven tea houses and panoramic views of the mountains.
You will be leaving Bhimtang and heading to Gho, which takes about 6 hours. The downhill spiral takes you through rhododendron forest following the Dudhkoshi river. You will also have to cross a suspension bridge and a couple of wooden bridges. On the way, in Surki Khola you can have lunch and head downhill. On the backdrop, the views of Putang himal and Lanmjung Himal are unobstructed. There are comfortable teahouses in Bhimtang with necessary facilities and wifi as well.
On this day, you will be heading from Dharapani, which will take about 2 hours. After reaching Dharapani, you will receive a local bus or a private jeep to Besi Sahar. Since the road is bumpy, it will take anywhere from 4 to 6 hours depending upon the vehicle. On the way, you can take a stop at the Chamche waterfall with its majestic views and Syange waterfall as well. Besisahar is the headquarter of Lamjung where you will stay overnight at any of the many tea houses and hotels.
This is the day when you will be heading back to Kathmandu from Besisahar. You can take a bus ride that takes around 7 hours or can take a private jeep that takes five. In the highway, you can stop for lunch.
