Trip Itinerary

Welcome to Nepal. A representative from Eye on Himalaya Treks and Expedition P. Ltd will welcome you at the airport and transfer to a hotel in Kathmandu. For the remaining time, you can rest at your hotel and make yourself with the new environment. 

In the morning, after breakfast, you will be driven to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. It is an ancient palace of Malla kings that is wonderfully crafted with various forms of art and architecture. It is actually a huge complex that comprises of palace, temples and courtyards, the main palace has now been turned into a museum. Here, you can explore the wonderful wooden carvings, metal works, stone carving and historical monuments of Nepal. After exploring the durbar square, we drive to Nagarkot which is a popular hill station near Kathmandu known for some excellent mountain views.

We wake up early in the morning to catch the morning sunrise over the mountains from view tower in Nagarkot. The golden sun rays over the snow-clad mountains is truly a sensational view to soothe your heart and mind. After the impressive views, we return back to our hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, we explore the surroundings and drive back to Kathmandu. On the way, we can visit Changu Narayan temple which is also one of the heritage sites in Nepal.

It’s an interesting day today. In the early morning, you will be driven to the domestic terminal of Kathmandu airport for a mountain flight ahead. It’s an hour-long flight over the Himalayas that allows you to witness the grandeur of sky dominating mountains, icefalls, and glaciers. Eight out of fourteen highest mountains that rise over eight thousand meters lie in Nepal and with this flight, you can get close to all those mountains. after the flight, you will be driven back to your hotel in Kathmandu. If interested, you can walk pass the streets of Thamel to explore the city and enjoy wonderful shopping experience. 

Another morning flight that takes you to Pokhara, the lakeside city. Pokhara is often considered as the most frequented touristic hub in Nepal. It is a popular travel destination for both domestic and international travelers. Upon arrival, you will be driven to your hotel near the lakeside. After relaxing in the hotel for a while, you can walk towards the lakeside Pokhara. On a clear day, you can witness the Mt. Macchpucchre in the backdrop of the lake. The colorful boats, lush and pristine environment amidst the serenity of Phewa lake, lakeside Pokhara is a beautiful experience.

Pokhara is a city of attractions. There is so much to explore and experience. Today, we spend our day exploring some beautiful sites around the city. We drive to Gupteshwor temple, Davis falls and International mountaineering museum. If interested in any adventure activities, you can drive to Sarangkot for adventure activities like paragliding, zip flyer, etc. in the evening, you will be dropped at your hotel.

Leaving Pokhara, we drive to Lumbini – the birthplace of Lord Buddha today. We drive past a scenic route to Butwal, Bhairahawa which is also one of the major cities of Nepal. It takes us around seven to eight hours to reach Lumbini. Upon arrival, you will be escorted to your hotel room in Lumbini.

Another day of exploration! We drive towards the main periphery area of Lumbini – the birthplace of Lord Budhha. As we enter the complex, we visit the white peace pagoda. Then we walk towards the Mayadevi temple. We observe the footprints of Lord Buddha and the Ashoka pillar. There are many artistic monasteries built by different countries in the periphery of Lumbini. We visit those monasteries and spend our day exploring this world heritage site of Nepal

After a wonderful day in Lumbini, we drive back to the capital city of Kathmandu. We drive along a scenic route and pass various countryside sections of Nepal to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy the time on your own.

Finally, it’s time to explore the capital city of Nepal – Kathmandu. At first, we head to Kathmandu Durbar Square that lies in the heart of Kathmandu. It is an ancient artistic palace that is quite similar to that of the palace in Bhaktapur. It is also a huge complex that comprises of palace, temples, and courtyards. The entire palace is beautifully crafted with wooden, metal and stone carvings. From the durbar square, we head towards Swayambhunath stupa which is a Buddhist stupa that lies on a hilltop. From the top, we can get a complete view of Kathmandu city. the stupa is a big white dome with Buddha eyes on golden spire on all sides. Next, the tour takes us to Pashupatinath temple which is an old Hindu temple in Nepal. Finally, the tour concludes in Boudhanath stupa which is a huge stupa placed upon a three-layered mandala.
